Born in Brazil, Debora Szpilman is an independent illustrator based in Paris.Illustration has always accompanied Debora Szpilman.
At the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro during her architecture studies, then in Paris from 2013, from Studio Berçot (where she graduated valedictorian) to Azzedine Alaïa's studio. But neither architecture nor fashion give her as much satisfaction as illustration, which she decides to practice full time.
Debora Szpilman's light and aerial line gives her work a unique poetry and her characters the sensation of being always in motion - characters that she often draws with their eyes closed, as if they were totally abandoned to the artist's choreography.
This kineticism gives Debora Szpilman's illustrations a wonderful carefree quality, and through her kaleidoscope, she allows us to glimpse the world with the humor it often lacks. The New York Times was not mistaken.
